Let's not forget the blood ban. If they would "shed new light with some scripture proof as support (so-called)", then this may just to a certain degree "save their hides" so to speak. let's play devils advocate here.. put yourself in the governing body's shoes.

they are well aware of all the issues they are facing.

they know their numbers (they 'do the math' as they say in the us).

do " good works" and widely publicise it. such as cash and labour to places hit by freak weather. become a force for good in the eyes of the public. stop all mention of armageddon and a new world. make the resurrection hope the thing to placate the elderly dubs.--not armageddon and everlasting life. they know it aint gonna happen.

this thread is quite morbid so i apologize in advance.. a few days ago i was having a conversation with my girlfriend in which she mentioned in passing that she's signed up to donate her organs after her death.

i was quite surprised because she mentioned it like it was no big deal.

i asked her which organs.

I’m still trying to get over that Stanny did 100 HOURS a month banging on doors!!

i'm afraid so. did it for 6 months when i was 16--then from 18 to 21. i was also a servant then. although i can say some of the hours i booked were actually spent in a snooker hall. or a bowling alley.

actually--when you think about it--those specials had it easier than us regulars--we had to earn a living as well.---they were paid ! ( not a lot )
